Child Support Amnesty in Dauphin County PAJune 8, 2016
Child Support Amnesty Offered from June 13 through June 17
Dauphin County is once again offering a child support amnesty program in an effort to encourage parents who have fallen behind in their support payments to get back on track without fear of arrest. The program may also afford parents an opportunity to recover their drivers’ licenses that were suspended due to arrearages existing on their support accounts.
A Unique Opportunity to Pay Support Arrearages
Support arrearages are an ongoing problem, not only in Dauphin County but also in other Counties throughout the Commonwealth. Currently, in Dauphin County, there are 482 cases with outstanding warrants and 679 cases with license suspensions. The amnesty program, which has been offered by Dauphin County for the past several years, has proven to be a successful way to encourage parents to address the problem and encourage parents to make ongoing support payments.
Eligibility
To be eligible, individuals must appear at the Dauphin County Domestic Relations office in Harrisburg and must be prepared to make some payment on the existing arrearage. A payment plan will then be developed for any balance owed. The Domestic Relations Office is located on 25 S. Front Street and is open between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
Five Days Only
This is a limited five day amnesty program which runs from June 13 through June 17, 2016.
